Drain Down Terms and Conditions

Modified on Mon, 25 Sep, 2023 at 11:33 AM

a.If there is a frost before your booked drain down date, we may not be able to carry out your drain down. In this instance we will not charge you and you will be notified.

b. If we carry out your drain down during a frost then the Haven ‘Frost-Free Guarantee’ will not apply as we cannot verify all your pipework, appliances and boiler were operational before we started, we will notify you if this is the case.

c. Reconnection will happen in the week you request unless there is a high risk of frost damage, in which case we will ask you if you want to proceed or wait.

d. Once the reconnection has taken place, we will check for leaks and damage, the water will be turned off at the stopcock, and your holiday home signed off as frost damage-free.

e. Please note frosts can still occur after 1 March so we advise you request your reconnection for when you are sure you will be occupying your holiday home.

f. Please be advised that due to the volume of drain downs we may need to ask qualified external contractors to assist us.

g. Please do not assume that we will have a set of keys. If you have E, M, Union, or A-type keys and no auxiliary locks you will not need to leave a set of keys. If you are in doubt, please call us.

h. Please note, do not attempt to use any water or gas appliances after your drain down has been carried out.

i. If you have selected a caravan safety test and the expiry date is more than 60 days away, we will not carry out the test until it is due.

j. We will record in the system if you select the option to pre-authorise your safety tests automatically each year as per the park rules.

k. We will always communicate to let you know before we do any auto-renew safety tests, but we will make sure they never expire for you.

l. Inhibitor replacement or top-up to -15deg (30% concentration) will be done in a product such as ‘Fernox Alphi 11’ or ‘Sentinel 500’ which are recommended by boiler manufacturers.

m. If inhibitor top-up is required it will be charged at the current price per litre. A top-up from between -10deg and -15deg is included in the cost of the drain down. Inhibitor readings less than -10deg will be chargeable.

n. If a full caravan inhibitor replacement (approx. 6 litres for caravans and 15 litres for twin units) is required this be charged at the current rate per litre. It is usually more economical to replace the entire inhibitor if your readings are -5deg or less.

o. For any additional winterisation services we may carry these out at the start of next season rather than during the winter closed period. In the case of wet carpet and upholstery cleans this stops your caravan staying damp over the winter, for other services such as cleaning this gives you the freshest clean for when you are actually using your caravan.
